What this assessment measures

EXPAND is built on four units — The New Life, Plan for the Storm, Measure & Adjust, and The Long Game — closed out by the 90-Day Gate and graduation. This assessment walks the same course standards the syllabus grades: the lifestyle blueprint, the prevention card and rehearsals, the monitoring system, the 90-day reset, and the graduation presentation. Take it any time during the month to find your weakest unit, or on Day 90 as your Gate self-review. Like the course itself, it is pass/continue — never fail. Day 90 is a gate, not a finish line.

Safety first — read before you score

This is an educational self-assessment, not a medical or clinical instrument. If you are experiencing withdrawal symptoms (shaking, sweating, seizures, hallucinations), a medical or mental-health crisis, or thoughts of harming yourself, stop here and get professional help now — call your doctor, go to the nearest emergency room, or in the U.S. call or text 988, or call SAMHSA at 1-800-662-HELP (4357). Detox from alcohol and some drugs can be dangerous without medical supervision. Coursework resumes when you're safe.

How to score

For each statement, mark how complete it is as of today: 0 = not started · 1 = started · 2 = mostly done · 3 = complete and true. Score the work as it exists on paper — the blueprint, the card, the scorecards, the reset — not as you intend it to be. The course pass standard is 80% overall with no unit skipped; this assessment applies the same bar. Then press Score my assessment.

One more honest question — the lapse check

Course rule: relapse is a process, not an event — and processes can be interrupted. A used prevention card is a win, never a failure. You never restart the month — you locate the stage, reach, and recalibrate.

Please answer every statement — still unanswered.

Where you stand

Because you noted a lapse or relapse this month: that is data, not disqualification — the course continues, it never restarts. Do four things this week: trace it back through the three stages and mark where the emotional stage actually began, updating your early signs (WS 2A); run the prevention card sequence — leave, call, distract, ground — and rewrite any line that felt fake (WS 2B); tell the people who hold copies of your card what happened; and run a FOCUS Check on the whole portfolio, recalibrating anything the lapse exposed. Then bring it to your monthly professional review — it's already booked; that's what it's for.

One size doesn't fit all. This result is a reading of your workbook, not a verdict on your recovery. Different substances, histories, health realities, and support systems mean the right pace varies from person to person. Review your scores with your facilitator, accountability partner, or clinician — the framework holds, the numbers flex.

Make it a FOCUS goal: pick your weakest unit, write one calibrated goal to close its gap, share it with one person, and set the review date. Scored · Shared · Scheduled — that's how an assessment becomes a plan.
