“Recovery is a project, not a confession. It runs on goals you can see, support you can name, and progress you can count — and anyone can start today.”
Tap or hover each letter — these five tests score every goal you will ever set here.

This guided evaluation walks the same first questions the STABILIZE course asks in its first two weeks — an honest look, a location on the journey map, a support check, and your first scored FOCUS goal. About five minutes. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere; it lives only on this page.
Educational, not clinical. This tool is a mirror, not a diagnosis — a professional evaluation is always the real answer.
Step 1 · From Worksheet 1A — Facing It
The honest look
Denial thrives in vagueness — so start with a checklist, not a feeling. Check every sign that has been true in the last 90 days. Be merciless; nobody sees this but you.
Signs present
0
of 10 signs
Check the signs that ring true — the count updates here, with what it usually means for a starting point.
▲ medical noteYou checked withdrawal symptoms. Stopping some substances abruptly can be dangerous — talk with a doctor or detox professional about a safe way down before you begin. That conversation is Week 2 of the plan, moved up to today.
▲ get backupSix or more signs is a load nobody should carry solo. This evaluation still works — but pair it with one professional appointment booked this week (Exercise 2.2 in STABILIZE), or start with the SAMHSA helpline above.
You can continue with zero checked — awareness counts too.
Step 2 · From Worksheet 1B — The Journey Map
Where am I today?
Recovery is a ten-stage journey, and every stage is a legitimate place to stand. Tap the stage that matches you today — it is a starting point, never a verdict. (Stage 8 is on the map on purpose: a setback is data, not a reset to zero.)

Tap a stage on the map
Each stage lights up with what it looks like — and exactly where the program meets you there.
Step 3 · From Unit 2 — The Plan
Who's actually in your corner?
FOCUS is not a solo system — it runs on a three-role cadence: you daily, a partner weekly, a professional monthly. A crisis is the wrong time to start planning, so three quick questions now.
Green contacts — people you could call anytime, and it would help:
Professional support — doctor, therapist, or counselor:
Could you reach your emergency numbers in under one minute?
Your support cadence
● You — daily · ● Partner — weekly · ● Professional — monthly
The inner ring is already yours — it lights the moment you show up. Answer left to light the outer two.
Gaps are normal — the plan will name the fix for each one.
Step 4 · Two ways to run the same course
How will you run it?
Every REBOOT course runs two ways — same content, same outcomes. Pick the one that matches your real life, then set an honest daily time budget.
🧑🤝🧑 Instructor-led · in a group
One 90-minute group session per week, 6–12 participants
Facilitated by a counselor, peer leader, or program staff
Scores read aloud weekly — the group witnesses your commitments
The weekly call is not optional — it is the course
Step 5 · The FOCUS Goal Builder + FOCUS Check
Draft your first goal — then score it
One line per letter. If a line is hard to write, that letter is telling you something. Then score each test 0–2 exactly as the FOCUS Check rubric does — 8+ commits, 5–7 rewrites, 0–4 rethinks. Most old goals fail on C.
The FOCUS Check
Score honestly — this goal hasn't cost you anything yet. Rewrites are free.

DAY 1Read Understanding & Acknowledging §1–2 · write your first journal entry tonight — any length counts
DAY 2Complete the Warning-Signs & Consequences Inventory (you just drafted it above)
DAY 3Read the Journey Map guide · mark your stage on paper (you just located it above)
DAY 4The Honest Paragraph — write it, strip the softeners, read it aloud once, date it
DAY 5Draft your Commitment Statement — don't sign yet; sleep on it
DAY 6Session 1 or partner call — sign the statement and share it aloud with one trusted person
DAY 7Checkpoint 1 — rest, journal, mark seven days of showing up

⚖ The load rule: never more than five active FOCUS goals — and never add a goal in the same week you missed one. Passed a review? Celebrate and raise the bar one notch. Missed? Recalibrate — never abandon, never double.
